August 13, 2026 ![Update your Google listing: hours, photos and info](https://flynk.me/images/content/eintrag-aendern.webp) A customer shows up at 6 pm because Google says "open until 7". Your hours changed two months ago. Moments like that cost trust, and they are avoidable in five minutes. Here is how to change every detail of your Google listing yourself, and why you should check regularly what it says. Getting to your listing ----------------------- Sign in to Google with the account that manages your Business Profile and search for your own business name. Your management bar appears above the results, with options like "Edit profile", "Add photos" and more. No access? Click "Own this business?" on the listing and claim ownership. Without verified ownership you cannot change anything directly. For the full setup from scratch, see the [setup guide](/en/blog/set-up-google-business-profile). Changing opening hours ---------------------- Click "Edit profile", then the hours section. Set regular hours per weekday, including breaks. More important than the regular hours are the **special hours**: public holidays, vacation closures, that one bridge day. Google actively asks before holidays, but do not rely on it. Enter exceptions as soon as you know them. Changes usually go live within minutes, sometimes Google reviews them briefly. Address, phone number and website --------------------------------- Same place: "Edit profile". For an address change, Google may require re-verification, so allow a few days. Make sure address and phone number are written identically everywhere: Google listing, website, socials. Conflicting details confuse customers and cost you ranking, because Google stops trusting any single version. Adding photos and removing old ones ----------------------------------- Upload new photos via "Add photos": the shop, the team, recent work. Real pictures beat stock photos every time, even straight from your phone. You can delete your own photos yourself. User-submitted photos are different: you can only report them if they violate guidelines, for example if they do not show your business at all. The part almost everyone misses: edits by strangers --------------------------------------------------- Any Google user can "Suggest an edit" on your listing. Google applies some of those suggestions automatically, without asking you. That is how wrong hours or a wrong category end up in profiles whose owners did nothing. So check your profile every few weeks. Google shows pending suggestions in your management view, but not always. One change, three places ------------------------ For most businesses, opening hours live in at least three places: Google, the website, Instagram or Facebook. Change only one, and two are now wrong.
